Ways to pay your Council Tax bill

There are many ways to pay your Council Tax but the easiest way is to set up a Direct Debit or pay online.

Pay your Council Tax at a Post Office

You can pay at your local Post Office by cash, cheque or debit card (credit cards are not accepted). 

You can also pay by cash only at newsagents and convenience stores that display the PayPoint sign. 

Find your local:

You should take your Council Tax payment card with you.

If you do not have a Council Tax payment card

You can apply for a Council Tax payment card online.

You will need to provide your:

  • Council Tax number
  • address

After you've applied

You will receive an email to confirm your request. It could take up to 2 weeks for us to assess your application.

After we have approved your application, a physical Council Tax payment card will be sent to your address.
