How to recycle clothes, fabrics and textiles
Many fabrics and textiles can be donated or recycled.
Clothes
You can donate clean, good condition clothes to charity shops.
You can recycle all clothes, even if ripped, in the textiles bank at the tip.
Bedding, blankets, duvets and quilts
You can donate unwanted good quality bedding to local charities. If in poor condition it can be donated to the RSPCA or to the Dogs Trust for animal bedding.

Carpets and rugs
You can donate unwanted carpets and rugs to charity shops or sell them.

Pillows
You can donate pillows to charity shop or offer them on Freecycle if in good condition. Feathers may also be composted.
If the pillows are in poor condition, you can recycle them at the tip.
Wool
Consider donating unwanted balls of knitting wool to charity shops.
Old, damaged wool can be composted in a compost bin or heap.
